Credit is a special credit for lower income workers to reduce
their federal income tax. Those who qualify will owe less
in taxes and may be eligible for a bigger refund. Even if
you don't owe any income tax, you may still be eligible for EITC
if you worked during 2008. The average EITC return is
$1,900 per working family or individual. In Newport News
last year, an estimated $10 million went unclaimed because those
who were eligible did not file for EITC. |

apply is file you income tax return - Form 1040 or 1040A -
according to the instructions.

| To claim the
credit, you must have worked and earned income of less than
$40,000 during 2008 and you must meet other eligibility
requirements.
