From January through April our volunteers assist thousands of very grateful folks to prepare and file their Federal and Virginia State taxes.

For 2007 taxes AARP volunteers on the Peninsula assisted over 4,400 folks to electronically file their taxes.  This resulted in almost $3 Million in refunds; including

  • $750,000 Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC)  (Average of $1,200)

  • $300,000 Child Tax Credit (Average of $1,225)

  • $53,000 Education Credit (Average of $775)

Don't miss out on the fun and reward of helping others with their taxes.  We will train you and provide all equipment or supplies AND even reimburse mileage expenses.
